Expanding Social Contribution Activities for Local Communities

Hope 365, Supporting Foreign Residents and Multicultural Families
To promote sustainable growth with the local communities in which we operate, ST Pharm donated KRW 5 million to Hope 365. Hope 365 is a non-profit organization that supports foreign residents and multicultural families living in the Ansan area by providing shelter and free meals, free medical care, education on Korean language and the Korean legal system, and cultural experiences. The donation was made to provide practical support to multicultural families and single-parent families who are left out of the welfare system, helping community members live in a more stable environment. We will continue to strengthen our solidarity and cooperation with the local community.
Donating for the Well-Being of Seniors
ST Pharm donated KRW 5 million to Elim Nursing Home to help improve the well-being of senior citizens in the community. The donation supported elderly people in the second-lowest income bracket who receive benefits from the basic livelihood security program, but are unable to receive long-term care because they do not qualify for a long-term care grade. Elim Nursing Home is a facility that provides welfare services, including protection, leisure activities, educational programs, functional recovery programs, and community participation activities for low-income families and elderly people age 65 and over who are eligible for the basic livelihood security program. Through donations, we aim to support a better life for the elderly in difficult circumstances and practice sustainable sharing with the community.
Supporting the Independence of Athletes with Disabilities
ST Pharm supports disabled athletes in local communities by discovering and directly employing them, helping them lead stable lives despite their difficulties in earning a living. Disabled athletes employed by our company work in their respective fields of expertise, such as bowling, taekwondo, and lawn bowling, and are provided with a flexible work environment that allows them to train at sports facilities and participate in competitions. This initiative helps these athletes to secure a stable income while continuously developing their athletic abilities. Starting with the employment of one athlete in 2017, the program has expanded steadily, employing five disabled athletes as of 2024. We strive to go beyond simply providing jobs and focus on expanding social participation and supporting healthy lives for people with disabilities.
Joining the Zero Disposables Challenge
In January 2024, ST Pharm participated in the “Zero Disposables Challenge,” continuing our efforts toward a sustainable environment with the involvement of the CEO. The nationwide eco-friendly relay campaign aims to minimize the use of single-use items such as paper cups, straws, and plastic containers, and promote the use of reusable items. Launched by the Ministry of Environment in February 2023, the campaign has steadily gained momentum. Participants can join in the campaign by taking a photo of themselves making the numbers “1” and “0” with their hands to symbolize “no disposable items,” and posting it on social media with the campaign hashtag. Through this campaign, we aim to strengthen our existing eco-friendly initiatives and further advance sustainable business practices.
Global Bio Talent On-site Tour Program
Working in collaboration with our affiliate companies Dong-A ST and Dong-A Pharmaceutical, ST Pharm conducted a on-site tour program for the 69th International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation (IPSF) World Congress. During the program, we introduced our core business areas and API manufacturing facilities to pharmacy students from around the world, providing them with practical experience. Through this program, we contributed to enhancing the understanding of the global talent who will lead the future pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries regarding API manufacturing processes and biotechnology business. After the program, we conducted a survey to measure participants' satisfaction and the social value generated by the program. The results confirmed that the technical site visit enhanced participants' understanding of ST Pharm's core business area of API manufacturing processes, and served as an opportunity to establish a positive image of ST Pharm in the global pharmaceutical market.
On-site Tour Program to Foster Future Bio Talent
In July 2024, ST Pharm conducted an API manufacturing facility tour program for 29 students from the Bio Vaccine and Pharmaceutical Department of Andong Science College. The students visited the oligonucleotide and small molecule manufacturing facilities and the QC (quality control) laboratory, where they gained a deeper understanding of the manufacturing process and quality control of APIs. According to a survey, 71% of respondents were not familiar with ST Pharm prior to the tour, but after the tour, 93% expressed satisfaction, indicating that the program contributed to enhancing our brand awareness. When asked if the program helped with job preparation and skills enhancement, 86% and 89% of respondents answered positively, respectively, indicating meaningful outcomes in talent recruitment and development. The program is evaluated as contributing to the job preparation and understanding of university students while supporting the practice of corporate social responsibility. We plan to continue to expand our industry-academia collaboration efforts for talent development and activities that create social value.
